Learn Together. Build Skills That Last.
Dog obedience classes in Ball Ground give you and your dog the opportunity to learn in a structured, supportive environment while practicing around the kinds of distractions you’ll encounter in everyday life. You’ll build a foundation of practical obedience skills while learning how to communicate clearly with your dog and become a more confident team.
Throughout the course, we’ll work on essential skills including sit, down, stay, place, loose-leash walking, and recall. But the goal isn’t simply to perform a list of commands. We’ll focus on understanding how to teach, reinforce, and use those skills so they become useful beyond the training field.
Training alongside other dogs and owners also gives us something that’s difficult to recreate at home: controlled, real-world distractions. You’ll have the opportunity to practice keeping your dog’s attention, working through excitement, and building reliability while I help you make adjustments along the way.
Basic Obedience Group Class
Our Basic Obedience Group Class is a five-week course designed to build reliable everyday obedience while giving you and your dog valuable experience training around other dogs, people, and real-world distractions. Classes are held outdoors at our Ball Ground training property and limited to just six dogs, allowing every team to receive individual attention and coaching throughout the course.
Basic Obedience Group Class | $200
Throughout the five weeks, we’ll work on foundational skills including sit, down, stay, place, loose-leash walking, recall, engagement, and basic manners around distractions. Each week builds on the previous lessons as we work toward making those skills more reliable both at home and in public.
The class is designed for dogs that need a solid obedience foundation or a refresher on basic manners. Dogs should be comfortable working around other dogs and people in a group setting. If you’re unsure whether the class is appropriate for your dog, reach out before registering and we can talk through your situation.

Rescue Adoption Discount
Every dog I’ve ever owned has been a rescue, and helping rescue dogs and their new families succeed is one of the reasons I became a dog trainer.
Dogs adopted from a recognized shelter or rescue organization within the past six months are eligible for $25 off their first Basic Obedience Group Class, bringing the course price to $175. Proof of adoption is required before the discounted invoice is issued. The discount is limited to one per dog.
Registration & What Happens Next
Registration requests are reviewed before acceptance into the class. Once approved, you’ll receive a Square invoice by email, and your spot is reserved once payment has been received.
After enrollment, you’ll receive your class details, welcome letter, cancellation policy, and any required paperwork before the first class so you’ll know exactly what to expect and what to bring.
“If you need to be trained to train your dog, you would be in great hands with Peanut’s Pet Care. I’ve only had two sessions with John so far, and already I feel more confident training my dog. John explained and demonstrated to me exactly where I’ve gone wrong in the past, he explained my dog’s behavior to me, and he showed me the best tricks and tips to help me (and my dog).”
